Federico Santander has put Paraguayan side Guarani 1-0 ahead against their Peruvian opponents Sporting Cristal.

This is the last game in Group 8. With Racing Club already qualified and with Deportivo Tachira already eliminated, the winner of this game will progress to the last-16 and the knock-out stages.
Guarani held the advantage going into the game, sitting two points ahead of Cristal, meaning a draw would be enough to see them through.
Santander’s goal came in the 14th minute after a nice assist by Julian Benitez. There is currently ten minutes to go to half time.
Santander has been at Guarani since 2013 and his goal today was the 27th for the club in all competitions.
