Twitter users have reacted in their numbers at Paul Merson’s comments to Sky Sports that should Arsenal swap Theo Walcott for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling plus cash, then it would represent the ‘deal of the century’ for the Merseyside outfit.

The England pair have been linked with an exchange deal by the Daily Star, after the future of the duo had become the subject of media speculation.
Walcott has found himself frozen out of the first team since returning from injury late last year, he has started just once since early February and has been an unused substitute in the last three games for the Gunners.
Meanwhile Sterling has put contract talks on hold until the end of the season after already rejecting improved terms of a reported £100k-a-week, and it remains to be seen whether the youngster sees his future at Anfield.
Twitter seems to disagree with Merson’s comments that Liverpool would get the better of the proposed deal given the fact that Sterling is the younger of the two and could be a key player at the Emirates for the next decade or so.
