Manchester United completely outclassed Manchester City to win their first home derby in fours years with goals from Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and Chris Smalling.
An early goal from Sergio Aguero threatened to derail the hosts, but after Man United upped their tempo, Man City couldn’t cope.

Here is how Man United rated in their emphatic derby win.
GK) David de Gea – 6
Could do very little about Man City’s goals, but nearly stopped Aguero’s second with a strong right hand.
RB) Antonio Valencia – 7
As a full-back, you want to dominate your opponent and Valencia won his duel against David Silva – it wasn’t even a contest.
CB) Chris Smalling – 7
His goal was the icing on the cake in an impressive, dominant performance. Was caught out for Aguero’s consolation goal.
CB) Phil Jones – 7
Showed his qualities in one-on-one situations and continues to impress in his unorthodox style of defending.
LB) Daley Blind – 7
It is no surprise to see his move to left-back coincide with Man United’s steady back four performances.
CDM) Michael Carrick – 8
A player Man City are lacking, Carrick put his foot on the ball and dictated proceedings until he went off with an injury which could be a big blow for Louis van Gaal.
CM) Ander Herrera – 7
Compliments Carrick very well and has improved physically since he arrived in England and put in a lot of effort in midfield to combat Yaya Toure and Fernandinho.
AMC) Marouane Fellaini – 8
Fellaini produced another top-level performance and his continuous runs off Yaya Toure bewildered the Man City man.
AML) Ashley Young – 8
Two assists and a goal, Young’s transformation has been sensational this season and it is hard to see him being displaced any time soon.
AMR) Juan Mata – 8
British record signing Angel di Maria can’t get a look-in at the moment and Mata’s display will have the Argentine getting rather familiar with the AUDI benches at Old Trafford.
CF) Wayne Rooney – 8
Led the line admirably and his quick thinking and weight of pass for Mata’s goal was pure class.
