Club America defender Paolo Goltz will not have to serve the six game suspension that was originally handed out to him after the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League semi-final against Herediano.

Following an incident in which Goltz appeared to kick Herediano’s Cristian Lagos in the head, the America defender was retrospectively suspended for six games. However, after an appeal, CONCACAF admitted they could not be prove that the incident was entirely intentional, and thus reduced the ban to only 3 games.
It means Goltz will miss today’s semi-final against Herediano and would also miss both legs of the final if America manage to overturn their three-goal deficit and progress.
Goltz played for Argentine side Huracan for 8 years between 2002 and 2010 then played for Lanus from 2010 to 2014. He eventually joined America at the start of the 2014 Apertura and was part of the team that won the title last December.
