Raul made his professional debut in the Peruvian first division in 2005 with Universitario, but in 2010 left to join the French side OGC Nice. In 2011 he went to play in the MLS with FC Dallas before being released after two years to allow him to return to his home country with Universitario.
Fernandez is also the goalkeeper for Peru’s national team and has been a regular fixture in their starting eleven since 2008.
The Peruvian Primera Division kicks off on 30th April.
