Intolerance and violence in Argentine football has reached a yet another new level. Following the 1-0 loss against Argentinos, Lanus central midfielder Matias Fritzler was attacked by one of his own fans outside his team’s changing room.

Frizlter, 28, was replaced by Nicolas Aguirre nine minutes into the second half after a disappointing performance
After the initial aggression there was further fighting and shouting between the Fritzler and the fan; with the fan being accompanied by a large group of fellow supporters.

Lanus supporters the used Twitter to identify the aggressor, who now has been banned by the club.
The loss was Lanus’ second consecutive defeat. They visit one of their biggest rival, Banfield, next weekend.
