1) Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)
In what would be a superb move, Jose Mourinho is said to be lining up a £65m move to bring Real Madrid star Gareth Bale to Chelsea, with the Welshman struggling to live up to the hype at the Bernabeu after previously looking world class in his Premier League days with Tottenham Hotspur.
2) Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
Still a legend at Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with an amazing return to his old club after a difficult second half of this season with Real Madrid, though his five goal-haul against Granada may have put him back in the fans’ good books again.
3) Luis Suarez (Barcelona)
Linked with a stunning £100m move to Manchester City, Luis Suarez has had an up-and-down season since leaving Liverpool for Barcelona, and could now make a quick return to England if he joins City.
4) Paul Pogba (Juventus)
Formerly of Manchester United, Paul Pogba has improved immensely in his time at Juventus, and is now rumoured to be one of Chelsea’s top targets for the summer transfer window.
5) Kevin De Bruyne (Wolfsburg)
A player who somehow couldn’t get a game at Chelsea, Kevin De Bruyne has been one of the Bundesliga’s best players this season after a superb campaign for Wolfsburg, and is now wanted by Manchester City.
6) Luka Modric (Real Madrid)
Supposedly unsettled in Spain, Luka Modric is another former Tottenham player who could head back to the Premier League this summer after being linked with a move to Chelsea.
7) Yohan Cabaye (Paris Saint-Germain)
A great player during his time with Newcastle United, Yohan Cabaye has been unable to secure a regular first-team place for Paris Saint-Germain, and has as such been linked with a return to England with Arsenal.
8) Alex Song (Barcelona)
Out of favour at Barcelona, Alex Song has impressed on loan with West Ham United this season, and is now being linked with a permanent move back to England with Liverpool or Manchester City.
