Here’s our selection of the best, in no particular order. Enjoy, Arsenal fans!
1) Robert Pires (Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal, 2003)
This long range curler gave Arsenal a hard-fought 2-1 win against Liverpool at Anfield in their Invincibles season. They weren’t at their best that day but had players of Robert Pires’ quality to get them out of trouble, how important was this strike?
2) Thierry Henry (Arsenal 4-2 Liverpool, 2004)
If that Pires goal was as brilliant as it was important, this Thierry Henry one later that season surely beats it! The Arsenal legend took on the entire Liverpool defence before slotting home in a crucial 4-2 win to help Arsenal to the title.
3) Robin van Persie (Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal, 2012)
He may no longer be loved by Arsenal fans, but what a superb goal this was from Robin van Persie deep into stoppage time to win the game at Anfield back in 2012 – and not a bad pass from Alex Song either!
4) Patrick Vieira (Liverpool 2-1 Arsenal, 2004)
A stunning team goal by Arsenal in a 2-1 defeat to the Reds in 2004. Patrick Vieira finishes superbly with a deft chip after some wonderful play from Henry and Pires.
5) Thierry Henry (Arsenal 2-1 Liverpool, 2006)
Another Henry goal against Liverpool, this time as Arsenal won 2-1 in the two sides’ last meeting at Highbury in the 2005/06 season.
6) Julio Baptista (Liverpool 3-6 Arsenal, 2007)
An absolutely crazy game in the Carling Cup, Julio Baptista scored this cracking free-kick as part of a four-goal haul as the Gunners won 6-3 against Liverpool at Anfield.
7) Andrey Arshavin (Liverpool 4-4 Arsenal, 2009)
Another Arsenal flop who somehow found four goals in a single game against Liverpool, this Andrey Arshavin cracker is another beauty by the Gunners in this fixture.
8) Andrey Arshavin (Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal, 2009)
And he did it again the following season, with another great touch and shot from outside the box from the enigmatic Russian winger.
9) Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal 2-0 Liverpool, 2013)
A recent classic, Aaron Ramsey scored this fantastic volley against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium last season in a 2-0 win that made Arsenal look real contenders for the title, even if in the end it was Brendan Rodgers’ side who came far closer.
10) Robert Pires (Arsenal 3-1 Liverpool, 2005)
Another lovely side-footer from Pires, this free-kick is an underrated classic, perhaps as it came in a largely meaningless end-of-season 3-1 win for Arsenal back in 2005.
