The stopper travelled to Uyo, Nigeria last week for an international friendly against Uganda. The match marked the keeper’s 100th appearance with the Super Eagles, and while he received an award from the governor of his state of birth at half time—which he emotionally accepted—the national side went on to lost the match 1-0.
While Nigeria still had another match scheduled—a high-profile African grudge match against South Africa on Sunday—Enyeama returned to France. The 32-year-old was complaining of back pain, and initially appeared to be a doubt for Lille’s Ligue 1 clash against Reims this weekend.

“The coach has players in top form,” said Sidibe, “Vincent trained and participated in the session [on Tuesday].”
