The 21-year-old attacker has been in lethal form in front of goal this season, proving one of the Premier League’s surprise packages after enjoying a superb rise to the Spurs first-team and now being part of the England fold, scoring on his debut for the Three Lions in the 4-0 win over Lithuania.

Aston Villa midfielder Delph has clearly been suitably impressed by his international colleague, and has now said he would vote for him as the best player of the year when it comes to the end-of-season awards.

“He will get my vote. There are a few contenders but I will pick wisely and I cannot see why I won’t pick Harry,” he said.

Another England ace, Chris Smalling of Manchester United, also admitted that Kane was one of his strong candidates, though he did not yet want to reveal who he’d be voting for at the end of the season.

“I don’t want to say my vote just yet, but he’ll definitely be in the running,” Smalling added.
