Twitter reacts as jaws hit the floor following Steven Fletcher hat-trick for Scotland against Gibraltar
What!? 6ft-plus Real Madrid wonderkid, who is wanted by Liverpool & Man United, SNUBBED by Scotland Under-19s for being TOO SHORT
Gibraltar went into the game in Glasgow on the back of four straight defeats in their 2016 European Championship qualification section and were yet to score a goal…until they faced the Scots.
Despite falling behind to a Shaun Maloney penalty after 18 minutes, they equalised just a minute later through Lee Casciaro, who is a policeman by day, and he sent the shock waves throughout the stadium.
Although his side were unable to hold to what would have been a valuable point, they certainly made a big impression by getting on the scoresheet for the first time in an official UEFA recognized tournament.
And it was that goal which is more likely to make the headlines…and has certainly made waves on Twitter:
Scotland! You can’t concede against Gibraltar! That’s like losing a goal to Wonderland, Narnia or Bucks Fizz’s Land Of Make Believe…

Embarrassing to lose a goal to Gibraltar but it’s was a comfortable game and someone finally getting a hat-trick for us is brilliant
