The 30 year old’s Anfield contract expires in the summer according to the Daily Mirror and having made just ten Premier League starts this season one wonders if a new deal is on the horizon.
Brendan Rodgers has been fielding Alberto Moreno on the left-hand side of his defence and in recent months has opted to use Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Emre Can in a three man central defensive unit.
Brazilian Dani Alves is also set to see his contract expire and according to Sport the right-back is likely to move to PSG.
Liverpool signed Johnson from Portsmouth in June 2009 and has been a first team regular up until the current campaign but may well have to consider the prospect of a fresh challenge when the current campaign comes to a close.
