The German has failed to live up to expectations in Serie A after a January loan move to the San Siro and has yet to score his first goal for the Nerazzurri.
This follows a torrid time at Arsenal, where he failed to start a single Premier League game, before being shipped out by Arsene Wenger at the start of the year.
However, despite being voted the second worst signing in Italy according to the Metro, Podolski has condemned his critics.
“People keep bringing up how the Italian media looks at me,” said Podolski, reports Metro.
“What can I do about it? Should I just dig myself into the ground and give up playing football?”
It remains to be seen what will happen to the 29-year-old at the end of this season, he still has a contract with Arsenal until 2016 according to the Daily Telegraph.
But considering Arsene Wenger so willingly let him leave in January you suspect he may be permanently moved on, especially considering the £100,000 a week wages the Guardian claims he is paid.
Not to mention the meteoric rise of Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom who will surely be part of the first-team set-up after recently being sent out on loan until the end of the season at Nottingham Forest to gain further experience.
