Whilst it’s true that the Etihad Stadium side are one of a handful of mega-rich clubs who could afford the sums needed to sign the 30 year old Bernabeu star, and cover his massive wage demands, it seems highly unlikely the former Man United man would entertain the notion of joining City.
On the subject of a City move for Ronaldo Sky Sports reporter Graham Hunter has stated;
“I know that the players at Manchester City were talking very, very firmly that they believed there was a successful move coming from that club over the last couple of weeks,” said Hunter.
“What we know is the mega clubs, with petrodollars, there’s never been a better time to say: ‘Well, would you like to cash in on your chips?'”
“Ultimately, it will always be down to the player. When you are No 1 in the world, he will decide.” Hunter added.
Ronaldo’s form has dipped of late, when judging the player by his own incredibly high standards, and Real Madrid’s recent El Clasico defeat has handed Barcelona the edge in the La Liga race but even so the Spanish giants would be crazy to consider offers for their prized asset.
