Bastia draw 0-0 with Guingamp in their first ‘home’ match away from the Stade Furiani after matches at the ground were suspended due to fan trouble.
A combination of the unfamiliar surroundings and the beating rain combined for a drab encounter.
Ghislain Printant’s side enjoyed long spells of possession, but shorn of injured playmaker Ryad Boudebouz they struggled to make their possession count and were unable to find the net. The islanders do, however, deserve credit for keeping an admittedly muted Guingamp at bay despite also being without several key defenders.
The visitors did have their chances, with a Sylvain Marveaux effort forcing a good save from Alphonse Areola.
It was Bastia, however, who will feel most disappointed with the result, particularly when Christopher Maboulou fired this chance way over the bar from close range.
