Here is how Mauricio Pochettino’s men got on:
GK- Hugo Lloris N/A
Replaced inside the first four minutes after a collision left him unable to continue
RB- Kyle Walker 4
The full back had a really poor game, and failed to justify his selection for the national side.
CB- Eric Dier 6
Looked assured at the back, and is gradually forming a decent partnership with Vertonghen.
CB- Jan Vertonghen 7
Made a couple of crucial challenges that proved very important once the result got closer in the final moments.
LB- Danny Rose 7
Roy Hodgson clearly made a mistake about which Spurs full-back to call up. Rose made a crucial tackle in first-half stoppage time to deny David Nugent, and generally had a good game.
CM- Ryan Mason 6
It wasn’t his best performance, but his good pass led to the contentious penalty.
CM- Nabil Bentaleb 7
Like his partner in the centre of the pitch, Bentaleb’s passing was decent enough, but he made a much larger impact on the game.
RW- Andros Townsend 5
Failed to get over the humiliation of being subbed off within half an hour against Manchester United, as he was taken off not long after half-time after a poor game.
AM- Christian Eriksen 6
He had a quiet game, and is clearly struggling to rediscover the form of earlier in the season.
LW- Nacir Chadli 4
Frustrating lack of effort. A shocking dive saw him rightfully booked, and he crowned a dreadful performance with a terrible miss when it was 3-2.
ST- Harry Kane 9
Became the Premier League’s leading scorer with a hat-trick, and inspired his team to go back in front after they’d been pegged back from 2-0.
Subs
Michel Vorm 6
Wouldn’t have been expecting to be called upon at all, let alone in the fourth minute. Would have wanted to keep a clean sheet in a rare opportunity.
Paulinho 6
Brought on to provide defensive cover once Leicester had equalised, so did his job fairly well.
Mousa Dembele 6
Had little time to make an impact, but did what was required of him at that stage of the stage.
