On-loan West Ham United attacker Maiga had been a doubt having suffered an ankle sprain against AS Saint-Etienne last weekend. He was replaced at half-time in that match and didn’t train for the first four days of the week.
However, he returned to physical action on Friday and worked alone with former Aston Villa fitness coach Robert Duverne.
Metz currently sit in 20th place in the Ligue 1 table, ten points adrift of safety and 17th-place Evian Thonon Gaillard. With matches running out, Albert Cartier cannot afford to play it safe and will likely call upon Maiga at some point during the meeting with 14th-place Caen.
Centre-back Palomino will also be available having served his one-match suspension against Saint-Etienne last week. Metz conceded three without him on Saturday and will hope to be more resolute with the Argentine returned to the starting XI against Caen on Saturday evening.
