The side had a logistical nightmare; they had planned to travel from Mexico City to Monterrey by bus, but had failed to consider the distances involved.
Firstly, they took a bus from Oruro to Bolivian capital La Paz, then a flight to Lima in Peru. From Peru they took a flight to Mexico City, but on arrival discovered that the trip from the Mexican capital to Monterrey would take 16 hours by coach. Instead, they had to wait in the airport for seven hours while they waited for a flight with sufficient availability.
According to their Twitter account, San Jose arrived to Monterrey at 11pm on Monday and have had no time to train or see the stadium.
San Jose are third in Group Six with three points from three games, four points behind group leaders Tigres. The game is scheduled for Tuesday evening, with kick-off at 9:30pm local time.
