Despite some fine moments on Tuesday night, Mesut Ozil once again found himself being widely criticised for his role in a dissapointing night for Arsenal, as the Gunners exited the Champions League on away goals against AS Monaco.

Ozil has been a source for much derision from Arsenal fans since his £42.5m move from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013, while many critics have suggested that he will struggle to ever validate that price.

The Spaniard might be yet to feature for Manchester United this season, but there aren’t many who could match his list of winners medals.

The promising young defender made an immediate impact this season, starting with a couple of goals, and has continued to impress.
LB) Ashley Cole (Roma, Free)
The former Chelsea and England full-back made the move to Italy last summer, and has done well, likely ensuring another second place finish.
CB) Shkodran Mustafi (Valencia, £6.3m)
The World Cup winning defender, who began his professional career with Everton before joining Sampdoria, moved to Spain in the summer.
CB) Bruno Martins Indi (Porto, £6.1m)
Another player who impressed at the World Cup despite not enjoying much of a reputation prior to the tournament. Has replaced Mangala.
CM) Xabi Alonso (Bayern Munich, £5m)
The legendary midfielder is aiming to win the Champions League with a third different club, after joining from Real Madrid.
CM) Nuri Sahin (Borussia Dortmund, £5.5m)
The former Liverpool loan flop completed his move from Real Madrid back to Dortmund on a permanent basis, and looks happy to be home.
RM) Jonathan de Guzman (Napoli, £4.8m)
The former Swansea City loanee moved to Napoli this summer, after struggling to make an impression at Villarreal, and has done a decent job.
LM) Jeremy Menez (AC Milan, Free)
The 27-year-old was overlooked by PSG, and allowed to leave last summer, and he’s proved one of the few bright sparks for Milan this term.
ST) Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich, Free)
After 103 goals in 185 games for Borussia Dortmund, the Polish striker earned himself a move to Munich, where he’s struck 17 times thus far.
ST) Josip Drmic (Bayer Leverkusen, £5.4m)
His 17 league goals were not enough to keep Nurnberg in the top flight last season, and he was instead flogged on the cheap to Leverkusen.
