Predicted Barcelona XI vs Manchester City: Lionel Messi, Neymar & Luis Suarez in “perfect” form

There are five City players we believe would get into Barcelona’s starting XI:

GK) Joe Hart

The England international has had his ups and downs, but he is firmly ahead of  Willy Caballero at City, and beats out Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo.

CB) Javier Mascherano

The versatile former Liverpool star has been superb for Barcelona as of late, and whether it’s in midfield or defence, he has to make the team.

CB) Vincent Kompany

His form has been questionable at times recently, but on his day he is among the best centre-backs in the world.

RB) Pablo Zabaleta

Dani Alves isn’t the player he once was, and City’s Argentine right-back narrowly beats him to a place in this combined XI.

LB) Jordi Alba

One of the best left-backs in the world, the pacey defender certainly doesn’t face competition from the likes of Gael Clichy and Aleksander Kolarov.

CM) Yaya Toure

The only man who has played for both sides, Toure is one of the most dominant midfielders in the game.

CM) Sergio Busquets

A defensive rock in midfield for Barcelona, Busquets provides a foundation for the La Liga side to push on and attack from.

RW) Lionel Messi

One of, if not the, best player in the world, Lionel Messi cannot be left out of any combined XI.

ST) Luis Suarez

The ex-Liverpool star took a while to settle in to life at the Nou Camp, but is quickly becoming a scoring sensation with the Spanish giants.

ST) Sergio Aguero

Despite Barcelona’s plethora of attacking talents, it’s impossible to leave Sergio Aguero out. Arguably the best pure finisher in the game, the Argentine definitely gets a place.

LW) Neymar

The tricky Brazilian has been in fine form since joining Barcelona, and continues to improve day by day.
