While Paris-apart from the tireless Zlatan-were wholly disappointing, full-backs Gregory van der Wiel and Lucas Digne were thoroughly sub-standard.
Despite facing a narrow Bordeaux side, and dealing with no direct wingers, neither man looked to get forward and contribute to PSG’s disjointed attack. Each man only completed one dribble, according to WhoScored.
Defensively, they were also found wanting, particularly for Bordeaux’s second goal and while both men contributed tackles and interceptions, they played their part in a shaky backline.
Blanc will take solace from the fact that first-choice Maxwell will soon return and replace Digne at left-back, however, he may well be hoping that Serge Aurier can return to full fitness as soon as possible in order to put pressure on van der Wiel for the right-back slot.
