The 29-year-old has really struggled since joining the Red Devils on a season-long loan from AS Monaco, scoring just four times so far and often finding himself out of favour with van Gaal.
Still, writing in his program notes ahead of today’s game against Tottenham Hotspur, the Dutchman was full of praise for the player as he tips him to get back to his best.
