City scouts reportedly travelled to Stamford Bridge in midweek to watch the Italian midfielder play in the Champions League second leg against Chelsea. They would not have been disappeared as the 22-year-old had a fantastic game, helping his side reached the last eight, despite being down to ten men for most of the game.
The French club have not entirely ruled out the prospect of Verratti leaving the club in the summer, despite the player being an ever-present for Laurent Blanc’s side this season, but they will be looking to make a large profit on the player.
He moved to Paris from Pescara in 2012 in a deal believed to worth around £7m, and it may require a bid of over £20m to prise the Italian international away.
