Can the home side separate themselves from the bottom three with victory over Caen?
When: 7.00 pm GMT, 14 March 2015
Where: Stade du Moustoir, Lorient
Lorient will be looking to put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone with a home match against Stade Malherbe Caen on Saturday evening.
A disappointing season for Les Merlus has become perilous. Heading into the final stretch of the Ligue 1 season, they find themselves with only 31 points from 28 matches and sit in 17th place, only two points clear of Toulouse in 18th.
After defeat against Saint-Etienne on Sunday, Lorient return home but without the services of central midfielder Didier Ibrahim N’dong, who is suspended. Similarly, Mathieu Coutadeur, Valentin Lavigne and Mathias Autret are all out while Lamine Gassama remains a doubt.
Against Caen, however, Sylvain Ripoll and his team will be confident of victory.
The Normandy outfit lost as well last weekend-at home to Bordeaux-and are themselves not clear from trouble. Defeat would see they and Lorient tied on 34 points.
Caen too are without some key figures, with Lenny Nangis suspended and Bengali-Fode Koita not yet fit enough for a return to action.
