They are one of the biggest clubs in Ecuador and are the most successful team in Ecuador. Unfortunately for their fans they have not been able to lift the Copa Libertadores. The closest they came was in 1995, when they reached the semifinals.

They are one of the greatest Colombian clubs, but they haven’t had much luck in the Copa Libertadores. They have never been able to reach a final, their best performances were in 1960, 1973, and 1974 when they reached semifinals.

They are one of the most recognisable Mexican clubs in South America, but they have not won the Copa Libertadores. Their fans have been waiting for more than 60 years to become Liga MX champions!

They are one of the most supported teams in Peru, but lost their only final in 1972.

One of the biggest teams in Brazil and the only one from the so called ‘big teams’ that have failed to win the Copa Libertadores. They have only played in one final, seven years ago, against Liga de Quito.

The Ecuadorians Barcelona SC have reached two finals, the first one in 1990 against Olimpia, and the second one against Vasco da Gama. They have also played in five semi finals.
4. Alianza Lima
They are the second most successful team in Peru, but have only played in two semi finals in the Copa Libertadores (1967 and 1978).
3. Universidad de Chile
They are one of the most successful teams in Chile but do not have the same luck playing in the Copa Libertadores. They have lost all 4 semi finals they’ve played in, most recently in 2012.
2. Deportivo Cali
One of the two most important teams in Colombia have only been finalists once, losing to Boca Juniors in 1978.

America de Cali are the team who’ve played in the most finals without winning. They actually lost three consecutive finals, the first in 1985 against Argentinos Juniors, the second in 1986 against River Plate, and the last one in 1987 against Peñarol.
