Calcionews24.com claim that although United have been chasing the 30 year old Dutch midfielder for many months, De Jong is set to snub compatriot Louis Van Gaal and remain in Serie A.
Juventus have form in this area, they famously snatched Andrea Pirlo from AC Milan in similar circumstances in 2011 after the legendary midfielder had spent 10 years at the Rossoneri.
De Jong has previously worked with Juve manager Allegri whilst they were both at the San Siro, and it is understood it would prefer to work with his former mentor than his ex-national team boss.
De Jong has played 80 times for the Netherlands since making his debut in 2004.
