With the new bumper Premier League broadcasting rights deal reaching a huge £5.136 billion, there is likely to be a lot of money floating about in England’s top division in years to come, with each team pocketing £99 million per season. The richest are definitely getting even richer and here are the seven wealthiest owners in the Premier League.

7) The Glazer family -£2.86 billion (Manchester United)
The Glazers’ takeover of Manchester United was vehemently opposed by a group of Red Devils fans, saddling the club with huge debts. The family’s fortune covers the Premier League side along with NFL team Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
6) Katharina Liebherr – £3 billion (Southampton)
The heiress to father Markus Libeherr’s £3 billion fortune, which also included Southampton football club. Originally there were fears she wasn’t interested in owning a professional football team, though it now looks like these have been put to rest.
5) Joe Lewis – £3.12 billion (Tottenham Hotspur)
The owner of Tottenham is rarely seen or heard from, entrusting many of the everyday running tasks to club chairman Daniel Levy. Lewis bought the club from Alan Sugar in 2001 and his company also has involvment with Slavia Prague and Basel.
4) Mike Ashley – £3.18 billion (Newcastle United)
The much maligned Newcastle United owner has a personal fortune to the tune of £3.18 billion. Ashley owns huge retail chain Sports Direct and took control of the club in 2007.
3) Stan Kroenke – £3.77 billion (Arsenal)
Kroenke is rarely seen or heard from, though he has an impressive list of former sporting teams which he has owned. The American also owns NFL side St. Louis Rams, while he used to own NBA team Denver Nuggets and NHL side Colorado Avalanche.
2) Roman Abramovich – £5.85 billion (Chelsea)
The Russian oligarch has made a vast amount of his fortune from oil and gas industries before buying Chelsea in 2003. Since taking over, the Russian has spent over £1 billion on players and infrastructure which has helped establish the Blues as a huge European force.
1) Sheikh Mansour- £20 billion (Manchester City)
Mansour is by far and away the wealthiest owner in the Premier League, having injected around £1 billion into Manchester City since taking over which has transformed the Citizens from a mid-table side into title challengers. The Sheikh made the majority of his money as head of International Petroleum Investment Company and his company also owns new MLS side New York City, Melbourne City and Al Jazeera sports company.
