Here are our predictions of who will make the last four…

Bradford City 2-1 Reading

While Bradford edge closer to the League One play-off positions, Reading find themselves falling nearer to the Championship relegation zone. With the Yorkshire club establishing themselves as cup specialists – as well as their experience on the currently awful Valley Parade pitch – Phil Parkinson’s side arguably go in as favourites.

It will be a close game, but with Reading’s players dreaming of – and perhaps expecting – Wembley, the Bantams will be ready to pounce on any complacency, and claim a narrow win.

Aston Villa 0-1 West Bromwich Albion

Tony Pulis’s side will be keen to avenge the last-gasp defeat to Villa in midweek, while Tim Sherwood’s side have not won back to back games since December.

Sherwood will also be conscious that a Wembley semi-final appearance will not appease fans should Villa be relegated come May, while West Brom look like they are on the verge of securing their Premier League survival for another season. This could see the Baggies taking the game more seriously.

Liverpool 2-1 Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn have definitely gone under the radar in this competition, with bigger teams, and bigger underdogs, making it to this stage. But Gary Bowyer’s team have a formidable front line at any level, with Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede likely to give Liverpool’s back three a tough time.

Now out of the Europa League, this competition is Liverpool’s only chance of silverware this season. Brendan Rodgers is therefore likely to play his strongest possible side, which should be too much for the Championship club – though they will put up a strong fight.

Manchester United 0-2 Arsenal

It is no secret that Louis van Gaal is still yet to discover his best starting eleven, or even his strongest formation. So if the Arsenal side that last played in Manchester – where they beat City 2-0 – turn up, and not the team that lost to Monaco so convincingly, then Arsene Wenger’s team should sail through to the semi-final.

United have struggled in the cup this season, with poor performances at Yeovil and Cambridge behind them. They should finally be put out of their misery on Monday.
