Beauvue has been in glittering form this season prompting talk of a previously-unexpected call-up to the French national side. The 26-year-old has scored 11 goals in 25 outings in Ligue 1 and has also bagged five in eight in the Europa League.
Such superb form is unlikely to see him sticking around at modest Guingamp for much longer and evenings like this demonstrate why he is likely to be such a sought-after talent this summer
The two sides contested this French Cup quarter-final in the stadium of Lorient, with Concarneau’s own ground being deemed unsuitable for such a high-profile occasion.
The Ligue 1 side took the lead inside the first three minutes when Christophe Mandanne scored from close range. The amateurs weren’t diminished, however, and Christophe Gourmelon equalised in the 22nd minute.
Both sides had chances as the game wore on, with Beauvue going close after coming on as a substitute. As the supporters began to settle into their seats for extra time, however, Beauvue grabbed his 21st goal of the season with a delicious 25-yard free kick in the 92nd minute.
