The Australian has been charged after none of the officials on duty during Palace’s 3-1 away win at Upton Park on Saturday, saw Jedinak appear to throw an elbow at West Ham striker Diafra Sakho.
The incident happened in the 87th minute of the Palace win, when the Socceroos’ captain cleared the ball away from his own penalty area, but in the process appeared to extend his arm unnaturally to attempt to catch the Hammers forward in the face.
The 30-year-old would face an extended ban, as he has already been sent off this season, during the 3-1 home defeat against Sunderland.
If the altercation had been seen by the referee, Mike Dean, and he had deemed it worthy of a dismissal, it would have left Alan Pardew’s side with only nine men for the remainder of the game, as striker Glenn Murray had already received his second yellow after scoring two of the Eagles’ goals in the encounter.
