The veteran Spaniard has been at the Nou Camp for his entire career so far, but could be tempted to try his luck elsewhere before the end of his career after falling out of favour in the first-team this season.
New York City have already got big names such as Frank Lampard and David Villa on their books, and Xavi could be their next exciting purchase.
Lampard’s move to the MLS side prompted a surprise loan to Manchester City in the Premier League, and there will no doubt be speculation that Xavi could do the same.
