Luiz Adriano
The Shakthar striker has been in incredible form this season, having already scored nine goals in this year’s competition. The Brazilian is available on a free at the end of the season and has been linked with numerous Premier League clubs, including Liverpool.
Edinson Cavani
The striker is reportedly unable to play alongside PSG’s talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic, so it is unlikely that they will be playing in the same team come next season. Cavani is level with Cristiano Ronaldo, and only behind Lionel Messi and Luiz Adriano for goals this year. He has been linked with Manchester United.
Jackson Martinez
Martinez is clearly starting to get to the point where he’s sick of being a big fish in a small pond, playing in the Portuguese league. Reports have suggested that Spain may be his preferred destination if he decides to leave Porto at the end of the season, but Arsenal fans will be hoping that the rumours that the 28-year-old is on his way to the Emirates are true.
Blaise Matuidi
In a team somewhat resembling the Galatico era of Real Madrid, the fact that Matuidi stands out amongst the stars at PSG demonstrates what a talent he is. The midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford to join Manchester United in the summer, but that well be dependent on whether Louis van Gaal’s side can claim Champions League football next season.
Marco Reus
The fact that Reus is still the subject of transfer speculation, despite recently signing a new contract at Borussia Dortmund, shows how highly wanted the midfielder is. It would not be unfair to say that his decision to renew his deal was a turning point in Dortmund’s season: since the 25-year-old signed the new contract, Jurgen Klopp’s side have won three out of three. The upturn in form suggests survival is no longer in doubt.
Toni Kroos
The World Cup winner celebrated Germany’s victory in Brazil by signing for Real Madrid, despite interest from Manchester United. The lure of working with Carlo Ancelotti was enough persuasion for Kroos. But his quality would have surely galvanised the chaos at Old Trafford this season, and we hope that at least one Premier League club may be able to prise him away from Spain in the near future.
