DM) Daley Blind
Blind seemed like a panic buy in the summer for Louis van Gaal, a player he knew well but didn’t go for until late in the window. The Dutchman is now integral to the style of play at Old Trafford and a goal scoring threat.
RWB) Paddy McNair
Talk of Dani Alves arriving remains but if Van Gaal is true to sticking to the policy of bringing through youth, then the young defender must be given a chance.
CM) Kevin Strootman
The worst kept secret in town but this summer may finally see an end to the transfer saga which has become quite tedious. Strootman’s severe injury didn’t help matters, but hopefully Roma’s chiefs will stop asking for an astronomical figure and a deal can be done.
CM) Angel di Maria
Britain’s most expensive player has failed to live up to the hype early on but Di Maria is a class act and will no doubt show his worth.
LWB) Luke Shaw
The amount the club invested in the England international seemed vast at the time but considering his potential and inevitable longevity at the top level, the priced seems like a bargain.
