Tonight is all about the Oscars as Hollywood hosts the 87th Academy Awards.

In tribute to the movie mega-bash, we have decided to give out our own set of awards to those members of the football world who deserve special recognition…

Award for best picture – Frank Lampard (Manchester City)

Many people find all pictures of Frank Lampard in a Man City shirt rather unsettling, but this image, which was taken just after the Blues legend scored against his former side, is stand-out weird. It does, however, capture some very clear and powerful emotion, which is why it wins the prize for best picture.

Award for best acting performance – Adryan (Leeds United)

This is amazing!

Award for best hair and makeup – Neymar and Dani Alves (Barcelona)

Forget the hair, this makeup is unbeatable. It’s just grrrrrreat!

Award for best music – Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

Rooney’s had a rubbish year on the pitch, but the man proved that he has talent away from football with this duet with ginger chart sensation Ed Sheeran.

Award for best dance direction – Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)

Sturridge’s wriggly arms dance had become a bit boring, but then the England striker taught Alberto Moreno to do it – and he excelled. Top teaching Studge!

Award for best team – Germany

This one was easy. World Cup champions Germany were amazing in Brazil last summer, thrashing their illustrious hosts 7-1 before beating Argentina in the final.

Award for best role as antagonist – Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid)

He’s so unpleasant, but he’s so bloody good! Congrats, you horrible man.

Award for best male in supporting role – Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)

Cesc has 18 assists in the Premier League and Champions League this season!

Award for best comedy – Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)

Sorry Stevie, but telling your teammates not to let the title slip, only to slip and let the title slip yourself… it was painful watching, but hilarious nonetheless!

Best costume design – Arsenal and Puma

The Gunners 2014-15 yellow away kit is truly a work of art!

Award for best special effects – Dutch national team

This award goes to whoever is responsible for helping Robin van Persie defeat science to score this stunning goal at the World Cup.
