“Bellerin is his ankle and Flamini has a tight hamstring. We’ll see. We’ll have tests tomorrow [Friday],” said Wenger.

Wenger also confirmed to the Arsenal official website that Aaron Ramsey is still on the sidelines with the hamstring injury he suffered against Leicester City with just under two weeks left in his rehabilitation.

However, Jack Wilshere is now fully fit and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is close to a return to the first team after resuming normal training.

Long term absentees Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Debuchy remain on the sidelines with no further updates given on their recovery.

If Bellerin is on the sidelines against Palace you’d suspect Calum Chambers would remain at right back as against Middlesbrough last weekend.

Flamini, meanwhile, wouldn’t have been expected to feature in the Gunners starting XI anyway at Selhurst Park with Francis Coquelin nailing down the defensive midfield role in the side.

The loss of the Frenchman will also have been cushioned by the return of Wilshere to the bench.
