He’s been in great form for the Hammers this season, but the club is now worried that he faces a lengthy spell out – potentially undermining their bid for a 2015-16 Europa League spot.

The versatile 25-year-old has played 17 games for Sam Allardyce’s side since arriving from Belgian giants Anderlecht last summer, with his manager praising his ability to play in both midfield and defence. He also has 17 caps for Senegal.

Kouyate has quickly become a fan favourite for his no nonsense approach, though his terrace appreciation was undoubtedly aided by goals against both Manchester United and Arsenal earlier this term.

West Ham are currently 8th in the table with 38 points from 25 games.
