British & French Police Confirm Hunt For Chelsea Fans Involved In Racist Incident

Disgusting behaviour by Blues fans isn’t to go unpunished.

French police confirmed that they have started an investigation into the racist incident involving Chelsea fans prior to their kick-off against Paris Saint-Germain, and have asked the British police for their assistance.

Just hours after the final-whistle blew at the Parc des Princes, amateur footage began to circulate online of Blues fans aggressively shoving a black man off the metro on their journey to the stadium, and chanting “We’re racist, we’re racist, and that’s the way we like it”.

The incident has been widely condemned and has cast a shadow over the Stamford Bridge outfit, with the club issuing an appeal for witnesses to come forward to help identify the fans responsible as quickly as possible.

The Metropolitan Police this evening released this statement regarding the investigation:

“We are aware of footage currently on the internet allegedly involving Chelsea fans in Paris,” as quoted by Sky Sports.

“The Metropolitan Police takes these offences very seriously, no matter where they occur. We will examine the footage with a view to seeing if we can apply for football banning orders, preventing people from travelling to future matches.”

“We will of course assist French authorities to identify those people involved and support them in any action they choose to take. At the same tame we will be working closely with Chelsea Football Club.”
