Keeper – David de Gea (Man United)

The Spaniard has been in sensational form this season and is unlikely to stay at Manchester United for much longer without the promise of European trophies.

Left-Back – Marcelo

The Brazilian has held down the position at Real Madrid since joining and is now widely regarded as one of the best full backs in the world.

Centre-Back – Sergio Ramos

Ramos has captained Los Blancos on more than one occasion and if Casillas moves on, it is likely he will be given the armband.

Centre-Back – Raphael Varane

If Real Madrid manage to keep hold of the 21-year-old Frenchman, he has the ability to turn into a world class defender and is well on the way already.

Right-Back – Dani Carvajal

A first team regular since Real exercised their buy-back option after selling the player to Bayer Leverkusen. He has made 18 appearances this season and at the age of 23, has many more successful seasons left in him.

Central Midfield – Luka Modric

Having signed for the side in 2012 Modric hasn’t gone on to pull up any trees yet, but then again has managed to remain as a key member of the squad. The midfielder will always be a threat with the quality of final ball he has having scored one and assisted three this season in 14 appearances.

Central Midfield – Toni Kroos

Kroos made the move to Madrid following an impressive World Cup and the German has brought that form into La Liga with nine assists and one goal this season. He should be at his peak in the next season and will be an exciting prospect to watch.

Attacking Midfield – James Rodriguez

The man known simply as ‘James’ has been a joy to watch following his summer move from Monaco to Madrid. 12 goals for the 23-year-old and surely there is more to come as he matures.

Left-Wing – Cristiano Ronaldo

Having turned 30 only a matter of weeks ago, Cristiano Ronaldo is now in the relative twilight of his career. That said he should be able to produce at least four more years of record breaking and scintillating performances at the top level.

Striker – Harry Kane (Tottenham)

What can be said about the in-form Spurs striker which hasn’t already been said? Harry Kane looks the real deal at the moment and if he can consistently recreate the form which has seen him score 21 goals already this season then England and whoever he moves to have a real player on their hands.

Right-Wing- Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

Described as the most exciting young talent in Europe by his manager, Brendan Rodgers, Raheem Sterling has been Liverpool’s star man so far this season with Daniel Sturridge missing much through injury. Sterling won the European Golden Boy award and is expected to go from strength to strength wit the right nurturing.
