Bradford City reacted to a TV snub with yet another amazing cup performance as they moved into the FA Cup quarter finals following a 2-0 home win against Premier League Sunderland, as reported in the Guardian.

The Black Cats are the fifth Premier League cup scalp of manager Phil Parkinson’s tenure at Valley Parade as the Bantams bandwagon continued.
Chelsea were the previous cup victims of the West Yorkshire side, falling to a 4-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge, despite having been 2-0 up in what has been described as the biggest FA Cup shock of all time. Following this result it was thought that Bradford had done enough to be picked for one of the four FA Cup fifth round TV games, only for a snub to follow.
With much made of the TV bosses’ ignorance, Bradford can look forward to their quarter final match being broadcast live to the nation, much to Parkinson’s delight.
“We were disappointed it wasn’t on the TV. If we just talk about the finances of it: a quarter of a million pounds for a club like ours would have meant a lot. But we had to move on from that and everyone in the media has done our talking for us,” said Parkinson.
The Bantams can look forward to potential ties against Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United,, should they beat Preston in their tie, as they plot the downfall of an0ther Premier League heavyweight.
Phil Parkinson has reiterated his desire for a home draw, as he feels it presents his side with a much better chance of progression to the semi final, “I would like a home draw because the atmosphere here is special and I would like to sample that again. At this stage any draw is a good draw and it’s great to get the name of Bradford City on the tips of everyone’s tongues.”.
He continued, “If we get our approach right, then we’ve got a chance against anybody. All I can say to our supporters is that whoever we draw we will give it everything we’ve got and, if we are not successful, we will walk off the pitch with our heads held high.”
