Blues Star Cesc Fabregas Desperate For Chelsea Champions League Triumph

Blues ace desperate not to repeat Arsenal heartbreak…

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has come within touching distance of the Champions League throughout his illustrious career, but finally believes that he is part of a side that he can gets his hands on the elusive trophy with.

Fabregas played in the 2006 Champions League final for Arsenal, narrowly losing 2-1 to Barcelona in Paris, and has also lost out in four semi-finals in the competition with the Gunners and the La Liga giants.

Having won almost every other trophy on offer in football, the Champions League is now his priority – and one that he is desperate not to let get away before the end of his career.

“The Champions League is the competition I still need to win,’ he said. ‘It would give me enormous satisfaction,” the Spaniard was quoted by the Daily Mail.

“I’ve played in a Champions League final, four semi-finals. You are there, you practically touch it, you get so close… I hope I can experience that moment one day.”

The 27-year-old will return to Paris almost nine-years on from the final heartbreak under Arsene Wenger – with the Blues to face Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the competition.
