The league is money mad – as this stat pack proves…
* All 20 Premier League teams are already among world football’s 40 highest-earning clubs.
* Revenue is growing at a scarily-fast rate. When Cardiff City finished bottom of the Premier League in 2013-14, they received more broadcasting revenue (£62.1m) than Manchester United did for winning the title 12 months earlier (£60.8m).
* The new deal will mean that the total cost of worldwide Premier League rights will far exceed £5.5bn, making it the second most valuable sports league in the world, behind America’s NFL.
* Broadcast revenue will be divided into three parts. 50% will be shared equally between all 20 clubs, with 25% being awarded as prize money based on league position. The final 25% will be paid as a “facilities fee” for televised matches.
* The average Premier League player already earns £31,000 per week. With increased broadcast revenue, this could increase even further.
