1 – Hugo Lloris – 6

Looked out of sorts and should have done better with Lazar Markovic’s goal, but can’t be blamed for Steven Gerrard’s penalty.

2 – Kyle Walker – 5

A quiet day for the full-back as Liverpool attacked down the opposite flank for much of the game, but didn’t have an attacking influence.

15 – Eric Dier – 5

Looked very nervy and was lucky not to give away a second penalty with a dangerous tackle on Daniel Sturridge.

5 – Jan Vertonghen – 5

Wasn’t his assured self, giving the ball away to Markovic for Liverpool’s first goal. Shaky whenever the home side got in the box.

3 – Danny Rose – 4

Gave away the penalty which saw Gerrard scored and had a terrible day all round. Dominated by 19-year-old Jordan Ibe who had the freedom of the right wing.

42 – Nabil Bentaleb – 5

Had a couple of promising moments but nowhere near good enough in defence for a holding midfielder.

38 – Ryan Mason – 3 (Paulinho 69′)

A miserable performance from the youngster leaving his defence exposed on more than one occasion with a string of misguided passes.

11 – Erik Lamela – 7

A danger all game and one of Tottenham’s few bright sparks while also providing the assist for Harry Kane’s goal.

19 – Mousa Dembele – 5 (Soldado 85′)

Looks lackadaisical, nicked a goal but did very little else.

23 – Christian Eriksen – 8 (Chadli 81′)

Carries on being the player with creativity for Spurs and was no different today. Excellent performance in a poor team and contributed a great free kick leading to the second goal

18 – Harry Kane – 8

The young English striker is unstoppable at the moment and it’s easy to get excited about just how good he could become. Scored another goal and contributed an assist and is surely in line for an England call-up.

Substitutions:

8 – Paulinho – 6

Very little effect on the game and couldn’t turn the tide for his side, an improvement on Mason though.

22 – Nacer Chadli – 5

On as what seemed like an impact substitution but failed to give any kind of impact.

9 – Roberto Soldado – 5

Anonymous for the very little time he was on the pitch.
