This will be music to the ears of Europe’s top teams, including Arsenal and Liverpool, who have been linked with the player over the past few transfer windows.
The Colombian has been in fine form in his time at the Iberian giants, scoring 85 goals in 120 appearances for the club in all competitions, following in the footsteps of players like fellow countrymen James Rodriguez and Radamel Falcao.
“I am clear that next summer will surely be my departure for a new club. In Porto players are valued and gain experience,” Martinez said
“But for now I have my mind set on defending this shirt with all the professionalism.
“I can not say a league or team in particular. There is much speculation and rumours always come around my transfer. To tell you the truth, I do not know which teams are asking for my services because I ask my agent not talk to me about these possibilities, because I need to focus on Porto.
“Come the summer I will find my way out. England, Italy? Maybe, but for now I do not know.”
Martinez started his career at Colombian side Independiente Medellin before moving to Mexico based Chiapas in 2010 and two years later signing for Porto for a fee of $11 million.
He has most recently been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the Independent, and with the record breaking £5.1 billion TV deal seeing an avalanche of cash for Premier League clubs, we could yet see him in England in the near future.
It remains to be seen for now where the Porto star will end up but there are bound to be many top teams vying for his signature come this summer.
