Captain Steven Gerrard urges club to reward Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling with new contracts
Much of the news around Anfield has focused on Gerrard his term after the skipper announced he would be leaving for LA Galaxy at the end of the campaign.
Yet the 34-year-old doesn’t want to leave his boyhood side in disarray and has urged the club to give new deals to both Henderson and Sterling in order to secure long-term success.
“Those players, Sterling, Henderson – Coutinho and [Daniel] Sturridge who just signed up – they are the ones who are going to deliver, so it’s vital they get them done [new contracts] before it is too late,” Gerrard was quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
