Francis Coquelin looking forward to competing in the North London Derby.
Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has stated that the most important aspect of Saturday’s North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur is for Arsenal to win it.
Coquelin, now in his seventh season at the Emirates Stadium, is no stranger to the rivalry between the two clubs and will play a major part in who takes the bragging rights this time around.
In games gone by, the Gunners have lacked stature in midfield capable of withstanding the significant pressure that will ensue when away to your bitter rivals.
However, with Coquelin’s performances in that position this season, Arsenal finally have some bite in midfield and the Frenchman is looking forward to the match.

“It’s going to be a tough game – we’re playing away over there, so it’s going to be hard. I think with the month we’ve just had, the confidence is going to be high,” Coquelin told Arsenal.com
“Even at youth level, we got a lot of stick from their fans and the atmosphere was really good. It just makes you want to do even better for your team and win the game.
“When you play for Arsenal against Tottenham, it’s not about just playing your game, it’s about winning. You have to win it.”
In the race for fourth, this weekend is shaping as a significant one with all the teams fighting for those positions involved in difficult fixtures. Should Coquelin’s Arsenal come out on top, then they will certainly be favourites to finish in those all important Champions League places.
