Ospina joined in the summer from French club Nice following the departure of Lukasz Fabianski to Swansea City, and the 26-year-old enjoyed an impressive World Cup.
Part of the Columbia squad which reached the quarter-finals alongside the likes of Juan Cuadrado and James Rodriguez, Ospina was one of the players that gained a big move after an impressive tournament.
Ospina has recently become Arsenal’s first choice ‘keeper, out-manoeuvring Wojciech Szczesny after the Polish international was disciplined due to his actions against Southampton on New Years Day.
“I always watched the Premier League when I was in Colombia because that was one of the leagues they showed on television,” Ospina told Arsenal.com.
“I see it as a big responsibility to come to a great club like Arsenal – it’s a dream come true. Now it’s my job to make the most of this opportunity that’s come my way, thanks to God and thanks to everyone here at the club.”
Since his inclusion in the team in recent weeks, Arsenal are yet to concede a goal in the Premier League, keeping clean sheets against Stoke City, Man City and Aston Villa as the Gunners regain the form which has become synonymous with the usual fight for a top four place.
