The Sun reports that City have previously seen a huge bid of £134m rejected by Real for the Portuguese superstar, who has previously shone in the Premier League with City’s local rivals Manchester United.
The Premier League champions remain interested in the 29-year-old, who won his third Ballon d’Or trophy this year, and Begiristain admits he asks his agent Jorge Mendes about his situation every day.
“I ask Jorge about situations every day. I can ask him every day about Cristiano,” he said.
Ronaldo himself recently signed a new deal at the Bernabeu but has been quoted as saying he wouldn’t rule out an exit in the future, though it remains to be seen if he would consider making the controversial move to play for his old side’s fierce rivals.
City have lured some of the best players in the world to the Etihad Stadium since their takeover in 2008, but Ronaldo would undoubtedly be the biggest coup of all.
