Gerrard and Costa had a slight confrontation in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup semi-final at Stamford Bridge and it looked like the two could come to blows after a tangling of legs almost turned into a scuffle.
Replays of the incident even appeared to show Gerrard attempting to headbutt the Blues forward, before the two were broken up by their teammates.
And self-confessed Reds fanatic Akinfenwa, who scored against the Mereseysiders in their FA Cup 3rd round clash, has sent a warning to the Spanish international in an Instagram post saying:
Costa has since been charged by the FA for violent conduct and could face three games on the sidelines for a separate incident where he appeared to stamp on Emre Can.
