No Swansea Move For Franck Tabanou In January

St. Etienne chief says the former France Under-21 player is going nowhere this January…

St. Etienne club president Bernard Caiazzo has told Swansea City that versatile left back Franck Tabanou is staying put for now, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

This revelation comes after Tabanou’s agent Phillippe Lamboley said Swansea and St. Etienne were in discussions over a potential transfer, claiming, “The two clubs are in discussions but I cannot confirm a bid has been made.”

St. Etienne are currently performing well in Ligue 1 and sit in 4th place, four points behind PSG who are in the final Champions League place. Caiazzo wants to keep the left-back to help a push for a top three place, “Tabanou will not leave this winter.”

The Welsh club are looking to reinvest some of the £28m they received from Manchester City for top scorer Wilfried Bony by strengthening their back line.

It is thought manager Garry Monk is wanting to provide competition for Neil Taylor as he is currently Swansea’s only recognised left-back, with the club also linked with Norwich’s Martin Olsson.
