Chelsea Boss Mourinho Hits Out At Jamie Redknapp Over Diego Costa ‘Stamp Campaign’

Jose Mourinho isn’t happy with the Sky Sports pundit.

Chelsea came out victorious against Liverpool to progress to the final of the Capital One Cup to take place at Wembley, however the match was, unsurprisingly, riddled with controversy – involving Blues striker Diego Costa.

Diego Costa appeared to purposefully stamp on both Emre Can and Martin Skrtel of Liverpool, and could face retrospective punishment for his disgraceful actions.

However, the Blues boss has hit out at claims that the striker should have been sent off – particularly aiming his wrath at Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, who insisted that Costa should have seen red.

Mourinho claims that the stamp was entirely accidental and targeted this rant towards the pundit:

“It is a great campaign, we know how much that pundit loves Chelsea and particularly loves me,” he said.

“When you are there and you are paid, and you are very well paid, much more than some managers that have to put their ass for 90 minutes every week on the bench. You have a very good seat, very good money, no pressure. They are always right, they never lose, they always win and they have to be fair and they have to be honest,” as quoted by the Telegraph.

Nevertheless, the Portuguese’s claims aren’t likely to be agreed upon by many – with the footage of the stamps showing Costa was extremely fortunate to avoid punishment during the play.
